FuturArc Exchange & Exhibitions Highlights (FEX) invited Principal PHL Architects, Patrick Lim, as a speaker on the topic “Green Projects & Design Solutions for Our Built Environment” on 11 September 2020. This event invited professional design colleagues, architects, consultants, and developers in Semarang City to participate in online presentations through the Zoom application. The event also featured selected ecologically sensitive products and technologies with core topics about Green project ideas and designs.

PHL Architects Become The Finalists of “Sayembara Desain Kawasan Taman Margasatwa Ragunan”

PHL Architects has nominated as one of the finalists in “Sayembara Desain Kawasan Taman Margasatwa Ragunan”. The concept is “Building Urban Refuge for edge species: A Renewal” where we made a shelter for animals that are evolutionarily extinct with limited relatives and threatened with extinction. In designing masterplan, the team also focusing on the harmony of life between humans and flora and fauna. By prioritizing welfare, animals have a decent environment and under their natural habitat. In the end, Taman Margasatwa Ragunan will become an education center, conservation, and recreation

In designing the master plan, the team considers various things such as maintaining as many existing green areas as possible; dividing the area into zoning according to function; manage access, connectivity, parking; and circulation between visitors and service. All design considerations are made for one purpose which is to create comfort for humans, fauna, and flora

The Development Launching Singkawang City New Airport (Basic Design)

The launching ceremony of Singkawang City New Airport has just been held last on Monday, February 18, 2019. This event, also attended by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Mayor of Singkawang, Tjhai Chui Mie and principal of PHL Architects, Hendy Lim who were also the architect who designed the basic design of Singkawang City New Airport.

The basic design was inspired from an etymological approach of the origin name of Singkawang city (San Khew Jong) which is located in the hills, adjacent to the sea and estuary, then combined with venular architectural elements of ethnic cultural diversity in Singkawang, Chinese, Dayak, and Malay (Tidayu).

First Piling Ceremony of Singkawang Great Mosque Gate

 

First piling ceremony of Singkawang Great Mosque Gate was attended by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Singkawang, Tjhai Chui Mie and Irwan. The piling ceremony will become the first step in construction of Singkawang Great Mosque project, where this mosque has a history as one of the oldest mosques in Singkawang and in the future it will be connected with Singkwang Central Park / Taman Cahaya Madani.

Hakka Cultural Center Has Entered the Third Level of Structural Construction.

Hakka cultural center has entered the third level of structural construction. Hakka Cultural Center will be a limited community to the Hakka Chinese community, but to embrace the public from all elements and layers of society

The design of the Hakka Cultural Center is an Hakka – Chinese architectural building known as Tulou. Tulou’s literal meaning is “Earth House” as the basic material components of the house are from the earth base, such as soil, rocks, bamboo, and wood. The mixture of the Tulou’s ancient characteristics and modern architecture elements as the basic principles of the design for this cultural project.

Royal Safari Garden : Interior Construction

Royal Safari Garden project has entered the construction phase of the interior. Royal safari Garden is a project located in Puncak, Cisarua – Bogor. Royal Safari Garden will integrates with the ‘Safari Park’ Zoo. therefore Royal Safari Garden was designed to have the “Safari Life” environment inside. The project itself is divided into several phases, start from the redesign of the commercial area which has a role as facade, image and entrance for the whole master plan.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of Singkawang Central Park

 

Singkawang Central Park project has just achieved an exciting milestone this week through a successful groundbreaking ceremony. At that moment, also attended by Mayor of Singkawang, Tjhai Chui Mie and Vice Mayor of Singkawang, Irwan.

Singkawang Central park is a revitalization idea of Gayung Bersambut park which is located in Jl. Firdaus Rais, adjacent with the Great Mosque, facing towards the city hall. Revitalization is driven to strenghten its urban space identity which provides various citizens activity and develop the community.

Various facilities provide on Singkawang Central Park features to support Singkawang creative community. Hence, artspace facilities area provided as the main attraction: art pavilion, gallery, amphiteatre, cafe, mural walls. Moreover, relaxing and sport facilities are provided in the area such as skatepark, basketball court, jogging track, outdoor gym equipments.

One of our cultural projects, Hakka cultural center has entered the construction stage. Hakka Cultural Center will become a place for various cultural programs and activities that are not limited only to Hakka Chinese community, but to embrace the public from all elements and layers of society

The design of Hakka Cultural Center is an Hakka-Chinese architectural building known as Tulou. Tulou’s literal meaning is “Earth House” as the basic material components of the house are from the earth base, such as soil, rocks, bamboo, and wood. The mixture of the Tulou’s ancient characteristics and modern architecture elements as the basic principles of the design for this cultural project. The use of bricks as a heavy material represents the rich cultural quality of ancient Tulou while glass represents the light and transparent quality of modernity.

Singkawang Cultural Center project is featured in one of the national television news, NET TV. The principal of PHL Architects, Patrick Lim explained the construction process of Singkawang Cultural Center which utilizes the existing building as part of the new building to maximize construction time.

Singkawang Cultural Center is a building that promotes the culture and arts in Singkawang. It is a space aims to strengthen the bond between people of the community through engagement with arts and cultural activities. Singkawang heritage through the architectural design of the building, the local cuisine, performing arts, and visual arts in the display within the building. Singkawang Cultural Center can be a meeting point in small communities where people come together to preserve tradition and develope cultural activities
